Ron van der Werf paints with acryl on canvas, panel and paper. Often complemented with chalk, pencil, textile, gauze, cardboard and sand. He often works with many shades of white that transition into brown or blue varieties, glaced in transparent layers ocher, sienna and other ground colours.
His work is close to music, the most abstract of the arts. Material, colour and composition emit a relaxation that feels benevolent. Titles are absent; the interpretation is left to the viewer. The viewer experiences the timelessness that exceeds the issues of the day.
The paintings and objects of Ron van der Werf have been included in various private and corporate collections in Germany, Switzserland and the Netherlands, including the collection of Princess Beatrix.
